Don’t ask me how, but this Sisterhood of the Travelling Kimono is a little bit enchanting. It has a rather uncanny knack for looking absolutely fabulous on whoever happens to slip it on.
There’s a black and white band around the neckline and partly down the front, rescued from a duvet cover. Black and white is such a magic combination, and I love the juxtaposition of that visual weight and drama against the soft vintage ness of it all. A divine hand embroidered doily has been rescued and repurposed as the front pocket.

There’s something rather special about knowing these textiles have already lived a treasured life. The Kaiapoi wool has provided a family warmth, the tablecloth has adorned a dining room table, hosting tea and scones, and the sheet has made a bedroom pretty. And now they’ve all found their way here, gathered together into something entirely new.
Even the gathered label has a little story of its own, hand stamped onto a vintage doily. Made slowly by hand from beautiful old things that might otherwise have been forgotten.
